HUNDREDS of locals turned out to a fantastic free fun day hosted in Saltcoats this weekend.
Community Hub of Hope organised the event which took place at the Argyle Community Centre on Saturday, August 17.
And there was plenty for all to enjoy from face painting and inflatables to the vast array of stalls and even some of the emergency services.
Following the event, group founder Amy Nolan said she was lost for words after seeing the support on offer and the turnout on the day.
She commented: "I’m speechless and let me tell you that doesn’t happen very often.
"I cannot believe how busy today was, I think the food was gone within about an hour and a half - I can only apologise for this but I totally underestimated how busy today would be - all learning curves especially since it was our first fun day.
"Thank you to everyone who came along and supported us today - I really hope you all had the most amazing fun day!"
Amy was also full of thanks for all those who donated their time, prizes or funds for the event.
Local councillor and mental health champion for North Ayrshire Council Jean McClung was full of praise for the organiser.
Having only launched mental health support group Community Hub of Hope in May this year, Cllr McClung says she is in awe of what Amy has already created.
She said: “What a wonderful afternoon I had at the Community Hub of Hope family fun day.
"Literally hundreds of people of all ages turned out for the event, organised by the amazing Amy Nolan, the founder of this community group, the aim of which is to support those affected by, and seeking support with, mental health issues.
"Members of the wider community really rallied round to support the event, including local businesses, as well as the Police and Fire Services.
"As the Council’s Mental Health Champion I wish to offer my sincere thanks to all those who contributed to the afternoon’s success, whether it was with donations of prizes and food, or giving of their time on the day to support this initiative.
"I am full of admiration for Amy and all she has achieved in the relatively short time the Community Hub of Hope has been in existence. It will be a privilege to continue to support the group in any way possible.”
