A NIGHT of country fun has been organised at a Saltcoats nightclub later this month.

And the 'Metro Hoedown' will all be in support of a fantastic cause, with the event arranged to support a Three Towns dance school chasing their 'American dream'.

The over 18s event will be taking place from 8.30pm-12.30am on Friday, August 30, and feature high energy five piece country band Deep River.

Tickets will cost £15 per person and are available online at tinyurl.com/MetroHoedown.

Those planning on attending the event can be assured that all money raised will be going to a superb cause.

This is the latest fundraiser to be organised by the Charlene and Siobhan Dance Academy (CSDA) who are looking to generate funds ahead of a planned trip to America.

The group, who have members from across the Three Towns, will be heading out to Orlando in April next year.

Here, they have five teams who won in their bid to compete in the 'All-Star World Championships'.

Though before they travel across the Atlantic, CSDA are looking to raise as much cash as possible to get everything they need for the competition - such as training kits, preforming outfits and all the associated costs involved in training when they arrive.

The dance academy had previous opportunities to head over for the competition, but the timing was never right due to other factors such as the Covid pandemic.

Now, as they are now able to make the journey, they are "going for it" as they look to make sure it is the trip of a lifetime.

Fundraising has been going well so far with a sold-out Taylor Swift themed event, also held at the Metro, proving a big hit back in March.

Hallowe'en and Christmas events are set to be held later in the year.
