A POPULAR event which has been held in Dalry for over a century is at risk of stopping for good.
The town's flower show has been cancelled for this year, it was confirmed by organisers this week.
While it is hoped that this is a one off, they say that more support is needed before the flower show can return.
With that in mind, a meeting has been organised next month in a bid to find the required support.
The meeting will take place on Monday, September 23, in the Rosearden Hall at 7.30pm with all interested invited to come along.
A spokesperson said: "The Dalry flower show is cancelled this year. The show has been staged for over a 100 years and is on the last Saturday in August each year.
"We hope to return next year if we are able to get extra people involved to join the committee for planning and staging the show.
"Everyone is welcome, not just Dalry residents and being a garden guru is not a necessity, as there are many sections and classes so are you willing and able to join us to stage the flower show once again next year.
"If you are interested in saving this long established event, come along to the Rosearden Hall on September 23."
