Morning ferries between Arran and Ardrossan have been cancelled due to adverse weather.

And the service between Troon and Arran is facing delays after routine maintenance took longer than expected.

CalMac revealed there will be a review later today to see if the 11.05am sailing from Brodick to Ardrossan can take place.

The company said today: "As a result of the vessel berthing overnight in Brodick on Monday, the 7am sailing from Ardrossan is cancelled.

"Due to adverse weather, the following sailings are cancelled: Departing Brodick – 8.20am, departing Ardrossan 9.45am.

"There will be a review at approx 10am with regards to the 11.05am sailing from Brodick."

On the Troon to Brodick service, the ferry company said: "Due to routine maintenance going on longer than expected tonight and impacting crew hours of rest, MV Alfred will operate a delayed timetable as follows:

"Depart Troon 11am (delayed 8.30am), arrive Brodick 12.20pm; depart Brodick 12.50am (delayed 10.20am), arrive Troon 2.10pm; depart Troon 3.40pm (delayed 1.30pm) arrive Brodick 5pm; depart Brodick 5.30pm (delayed 3.20pm), arrive Troon 6.50pm.
