A NEW takeaway is set to be opening "very soon" in Kilwinning.

And locals can already be assured that it will be a high quality business moving on to Byres Road.

It comes after popular Irvine Harbourside based Puffers Cafe Bistro announced they would be opening a sister venue in the town.

Shake 'n' Shack had previously operated at the Muirmill Equestrian Centre in Symington, having opened for business there earlier this year.

However, the social media page for the takeaway have now confirmed that they will be making the move into Kilwinning.

They have said that "things are starting to fall into place" and that Shake 'n' Shack are "just finalising the menu and opening date".

While no official date has been set as of yet, locals are beginning to get excited by the news.

Their hopes have been raised after sister company of Shake 'n' Shack were crowned the best in Ayrshire earlier this month.

At the Ayrshire Business Awards, the Puffers Cafe Bistro was named as the best cafe in the county.

Beating off tough competition, the Puffers team were thrilled to claim the accolade - adding to what is already a very exciting time for the business.

They said: "We want to thank every single person who voted for us, and have dined with us before. The support from our customers has yet again blown us away.

"We also want to thank the amazing team we have as none of this is possible without the chefs and servers working their backsides off everyday.

"Very exciting times coming ahead for Puffers Café Bistro with our sister company Shake 'n' Snack opening very soon - alongside an evening takeaway from the Puffers menu as well."
