A DALRY takeaway have once again been celebrating - after being named the best in Scotland.

For the third straight year, Zains Curry House was crowned The Food Awards Scotland's takeaway of the year.

Despite having a catalogue of previous successes, owner Khurum Jabbar was just as thrilled with this latest accolade.

He commented: "We are delighted with the win! We just can’t believe we have been crowned the best in Scotland 2024.

"We have won numerous awards now and always we like to stay humble and carry on the graft and keep working hard to give perfection to all our amazing customers."

Khurum also gave a lot of thanks to those who made the win possible.

He continued: "I would just like to thank all our team at Zains. From front house to the chefs who cook up some amazing recipes.

"That consistent working hard and driving to make the business great is what these awards mean! This is definitely a team effort.

"I would also like to thank our amazing customers for the support they show, the love they show and how amazingly they have supported us throughout the years with good times and bad times. We are really thankful everyone."

Though there was one particular person singled out by Khurum, his father Abdul Jabbar who handed the business over to his son back in 2020.

Khurum said: "He has always been the backbone of this business. Someone who I look up to everyday wishing I could just be half of the man he is with his hard work and dedication to the food industry.

"This man has worked tirelessly day in and day out to make sure our little family have the best of the best.

"My father worked seven days a week with no holidays for 18 years struggled through the good and bad to get us where we are now - it is an amazing accomplishment!

"He's the best dad ever - so all these awards, accolades and accomplishments are for you."
