A THREE Towns community group is going from strength to strength, only three months after it was launched.
Community Hub of Hope was launched back in May as somewhere where those struggling with their mental health could call a "safe place".
Thanks to the passion of founder Amy Nolan, the group has grown remarkably since then.
From organising a free 'clothing back' event to hosting their first family fun day earlier this month - the Community Hub of Hope has already become a vital part of the local community.
Building on from this, Amy was able to announce earlier this week that the group had secured a fantastic £10,000 funding boost courtesy of the National Lottery.
The news was announced to group members at what was only their eighth meeting on Sunday, August 25.
Amy said: "Tonight was emotional for me, to be honest, letting everyone know about the funding we now have and all the amazing things we can do.
"There is absolutely nothing holding me back now we had a wee celebration that involved cake and tea.
"I’ve never felt as passionate about anything in my life as I do about this group, the safe space that’s been created and the people that I’m helping.
"I genuinely feel like this is my purpose in life this is exactly what I’m meant to be doing and I’ve never felt so content in my life. The sky is the limit."
North Ayrshire Council mental health champion Jean McClung was also in attendance at the meeting - and has been a strong supporter of the group since its inception.
She also welcomed the lottery funding news and hailed Amy for her hard work in securing this.
Cllr McClung said: “Following on from the amazing success of last week’s free family fun day I was over the moon to be informed that the wonderful work being done by the Community Hub of Hope has been officially recognised.
"This Lottery Fund award is a true testament to all that Amy has already achieved and it will enable her and all involved with the group to continue their sterling work in supporting those seeking support with mental health issues and loneliness.
"I am delighted for them and look forward to seeing this group continue to go from strength to strength.”
The next meeting of the Community Hub of Hope will take place on Sunday, September 8, from 6-8pm in the St Mary's church hall in Saltcoats.
