Visitors to a new housing development in Kilwinning raised an amazing £750 for the Ayrshire Hospice by agreeing to 'Go Purple' at a recent fundraising event.
And the team from Taylor Wimpey West Scotland’s event at Willow Gardens added a further boost of £450, taking the total donation to £1,200.
Visitors to the development enjoyed taking a look at the two show homes on the site and got free mortgage advice from an independent specialist.
There was also an opportunity to support The Ayrshire Hospice’s Go Purple campaign and meet some of the volunteers.
Everyone who came along wearing something purple generated a £25 donation to the hospice, which hosts a Living Well Hub in Kilwinning and provides care and services throughout the community.
Audrey Ross, Sales and Marketing Director for Taylor Wimpey West Scotland, said: “We don’t just build new homes, we support the communities where we build, and our recent Moving Made Easier event was an ideal opportunity for us to raise funds for The Ayrshire Hospice.
“As well as providing an incredible service for patients across the Ayrshire area from its temporary base in East Ayrshire Community Hospital, its Living Well Team offers a rolling eight-week programme of support from its hub at The Dirrans Centre locally in Kilwinning.
"To show our support for their Go Purple campaign, we hosted our Moving Made Easier event, and we’re delighted to confirm that this raised £750. A further £450 from our management team took our donation to £1,200.
“We hope that prospective homebuyers and members of the local community enjoyed participating in the event which, as well as providing advice to potential homebuyers, has provided a helpful boost to an incredible local charity that provides some of its services in Kilwinning.”
Chris Rodden, Director of Patient and Family Services of The Ayrshire Hospice, said: “We are extremely grateful for this support from Taylor Wimpey West Scotland, and we are thrilled they participated in our Go Purple campaign.
"We can’t thank them enough for their support, and I am thrilled that so many members of the local community took the opportunity to visit the development, take a look around the show homes – and, of course, entered into the fun of wearing or bringing something purple.
"We are so pleased to accept a donation of £1,200 from Taylor Wimpey’s team in Kilwinning which will be put to work locally to help us deliver a range of projects to those who need the support of The Ayrshire Hospice. On behalf of everyone who relies on our services across Ayrshire and Arran, I would like to say a huge thank you.”
