A MAN has been arrested after police were called to reports of a 'dog attack' in Saltcoats.
Officers were called to the incident in the Shaw Place area of the town at around 8am on Tuesday, September 3.
Reports made to police suggested that a dog had attacked another canine in this area.
A 42-year-old man has since been arrested in connection with the incident.
It is understood that the dog which was involved in the alleged attack has now been contained within a property.
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: "Around 8am on Tuesday, September 3, 2024, police received a report of a dog having attacked another dog in Shaw Place, Saltcoats.
"Officers attended and a 42-year-old man has been arrested in connection with the incident.
"Enquiries are ongoing."
