Garnock Valley Carves is returning to Beith's Manse Field on Saturday, September 7 for its sixth year.

Organised by Beith Orr Park Neighbourhood Watch and friends, the 2024 event will have 14 carvers and around 50 stalls and attractions. The event will run from 10am to 5pm.

One of the premier chainsaw carving events in the UK, it always attracts top international carvers.

The carvers are provided with a large log (at least 500/700mm diameter and 2m long) and allowed only four hours in which to carve an item of their own choice.

There is also a 30 minute quick carve where the carvers produce some beautiful art.

The event will include various free and interactive stalls for children, such as face painting, storytelling, axe throwing and educational opportunities, as well as the chance to make small carvings and other interesting activities.

There will also be various food stalls and catering vans, plus coffee, ice cream and sweets available.

Many associated stalls will offer handmade carvings as well as hands-on and trade stands where one can see, and discuss, possible purchases.

All the carvings are auctioned at the end of the carving period. Payment can usually be made by cash, card or bank transfer. If you intend to bid, please register at the gazebo next to the control motorhome.

This year, organisers are able to accept payment for entry and parking by card or cash. There are approximately 100 car parking spaces available on the field.
