SAILINGS between Arran and Ardrossan have been diverted to Troon on Friday due to strong Easterly winds.

CalMac announced on Friday afternoon that the 4.40pm sailing from Brodick would now head to the South Ayrshire harbour.

The vessel is expected to arrive in Troon at 6pm and will depart half an hour later than initially scheduled at 6.30pm, arriving in Brodick again at 7.50pm.

The ferry will leave Arran at 8.10pm (delayed from 7.20pm) and arrive at Troon at 9.30pm.

There will be a bus organised to depart Ardrossan at approximately 5.30pm to connect with the 6.30pm service departing Troon.

CalMac added: "There will be a bus connecting with the arrivals in Troon to transport foot passengers to Ardrossan. Please be advised due to strong winds this service remains liable to diversion or cancellation at short notice."

Earlier today, CalMac confirmed there would be no sailings from Ardrossan harbour on Saturday and part of Sunday, with the service running from Troon Harbour instead.
