VISITORS to Ardrossan's South Beach got their first taste of the new Hub on the Prom at the weekend.
The Beach House Cafe in the new facility held a 'soft opening' on Saturday and it turned out to be pretty busy.
The official opening of the Hub on the Prom will take place on Friday, October 11, from 11am.
The trial opening of the hub, set up by Ardrossan Community Development Hub (ACDT), allowed visitors to sample the fare on offer.
ACDT chairman Scott Mould said: "Amazing project. I can't thank all partners of Ardrossan Community Development Trust enough for support and encouragement.
"This is the biggest community-owned project delivered for Ardrossan in a generation.
"Collectively over £1million has already been spent regenerating the Promenade following the Trust taking a Community Asset Transfer.
"There are a few snags to be sorted out then onto the next phase of this development work to make our Promenade a better place for residents, visitors and businesses alike.
"If you haven't already, and stay in Ardrossan, please join the Trust. Membership is free and your voice can help develop Ardrossan further."
The hub development, originally due to open in March, was hit by long delays this year due to construction and supply issues.
