A BIG-HEARTED Saltcoats woman has her sleeping bag, woolly hat and hot water bottle at the ready to raise funds for Action for Children Scotland.

On Friday, October 4, Fiona Garry and her colleagues at the Scottish Credit and Qualifications Framework (SCQF) will take on the challenge of the annual Boycott your Bed event, sleeping out to support vulnerable children and raise vital funds for charity.

They will spend the night sleeping outside with only a mat and bag to protect them from the elements.

Fiona said: “This is a big challenge to me as I like my luxuries, so please donate what you can for a very good cause and a nice, warming cuddle next time you meet me.”

Action for Children Scotland protects and champions children and young people, providing practical and emotional care and assistance, ensuring their voices are heard, and campaigning to bring lasting improvements to their lives.

More than four million children now live in poverty in the UK. Through its fund-raising, the SCQFP team wants to help Action for Children Scotland support more children and young people.

The SCQF supports individual learners and exists to sustain a vibrant lifelong learning culture in Scotland.
