AN AWARD-WINNING tennis coach based in the Three Towns has planned further coaching sessions in Saltcoats next month.
Allwyn Crawford, from Promoting Inclusion Through Sport, will be hosting the lessons for children at the Glebe courts next to the town's library on Sunday, October 6.
Sessions will be held across two different time slots for varying age groups.
From 1-2pm, lessons will be held for six to nine-year-olds and from 2-3pm sessions are open for those aged 10 and older.
The cost of the sessions will be £4 with all equipment provided on the day.
The latest round of sessions have been announced off the back of a successful run of coaching held by Allwyn last week.
It follows a spell away from North Ayrshire for the coach who is eager to pick up where she left off.
Her return has been welcomed by local councillor Jean McClung, who headed along for last week's sessions.
She said: “I am delighted that Allwyn has returned to the area and will be continuing with her mission to make tennis accessible to all within the Three Towns.
"Last week’s open day, aimed at children from four to 12, was a real success and it was a joy to see the youngsters’ enthusiasm and their smiling faces as they enjoyed the benefits of this outdoor activity.
"Allwyn is a highly-qualified coach, which was apparent in the way in which she engaged with the youngsters, all of whom made it clear that they were keen to continue with the sport.”
More information on Allwyn's work is available on the Promoting Inclusion Through Sport Facebook page.
