DETAILS have now been revealed for this year's fireworks display at Saltcoats harbour.

The event is set to take place on Sunday, November 3, with a big crowd expected for the occasion.

Just like last year, a young local will be flicking the switch to start the display when it all gets under way at 7.30pm.

Kilwinning girl Hollie, who told us she is eight-and-a-half-years-old, will be getting proceedings under way - just as Erica Miller did last time around.

The St Winning's Primary School pupil has been selected from regular attendees at the IMC Project in Saltcoats to carry out the very special job.

The event's organiser, Councillor Jim Montgomerie, is now hoping that the town will turn out in force and enjoy the exciting evening that has been planned.

He said: "Hollie has been coming to The IMC Project for a while now along with her father, David.

"She is loving it and everyone in the gym loves her. She works extremely hard every night she comes, so we thought it was only right Hollie was chosen to set off this year's fireworks display."

Before Hollie gets the display under way, the full event will open from 6pm with a fairground also to be set up on the harbour for the night.

Cllr Montgomerie added: "Be early because it will be extremely busy."
