A NEW shop looks set to open up in Saltcoats town centre in the near future.

It comes after the former Shoe Zone store in Dockhead Street was spotted with a fresh look earlier this week.

The building now boast a new frontage, advertising a business named 'One Plus'.

The shopfront also includes advertising for products which would be on offer once open - this includes cards, gifts, Christmas items, American candy and vapes.

No timeline has been provided at this stage for when One Plus would most likely open its doors - while the exact nature of the business is yet to be disclosed.

However, the return of a business to the vacant premises has come as a welcome boost to locals.

The Dockhead Street shop has lain empty since January 2023, when Shoe Zone officially left the town.

There was briefly hope that retail would be returning to the store around one year ago when The Hanger Preloved Superstore hinted at a move to the town.

However, the second hand clothing store closed suddenly in February this year - leaving the premises vacant once again.
