A KILWINNING community centre has been forced to shut its doors due to rising costs.
Blacklands Hall on Abbot's Avenue was operated by the Kilwinning Community Sports Club.
The sports club has blamed a range of factors for the forced closure, saying the decision was "incredibly difficult".
A spokesperson said: "It is with deep regret that we announce the closure of Blacklands Hall, our beloved community centre, which has served as a hub of activity and connection for the past three years.
"Due to rapidly rising costs - including rent, repairs, utilities, and overall operational expenses - it is no longer financially viable for us to continue running the facility.
"Over the years, Blacklands Hall has been more than just a building. It has been a place where friendships were forged, memories were made, and our community thrived.
"We are incredibly grateful for the support and involvement of all those who attended our events and participated in the services we offered.
"The decision to close has been incredibly difficult, but unfortunately, the increasing rent and the severely deteriorating condition of the building leave us with no alternative."
In more positive news, the club says it will bring forward exciting plans for its other facility in Hawthorn Court.
The spokesperson added: "While we say goodbye to Blacklands Hall, we are excited to share that we have future plans in place for our other facility located at Hawthorn Court in Kilwinning.
"We are committed to continuing our mission of fostering community spirit and providing a space for engagement and growth. Stay tuned for exciting developments coming soon!
"We would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to everyone who has been part of our journey at Blacklands Hall.
"Your participation, energy, and enthusiasm have meant the world to us, and we hope to see you again soon at our next chapter in Kilwinning.
"Our amazing youth club will be continuing in a new location and details will be released as soon as possible."
