A BIG-HEARTED Saltcoats café is set to open its doors to the area's elderly population.
Seven Sisters Coffee House will be offering a free 'warm place' to over 65s throughout the winter period.
From Tuesday, October 8, the Countess Street café will providing a space where those within the age bracket can come and enjoy a free hot drink and biscuit - or alternatively free soup and bread.
Opened by Jess Hopkins in early 2022, the business owner says she is looking to support those who may be struggling as a result of winter fuel payments cuts - and other local service closures.
The announcement was made on the cafe's social media earlier this week with the move well received by locals.
The post said: "As our libraries are closing and winter fuel payments have stopped we will be offering over 65's a warm place to have a sit down with a free hot drink and biscuit or a free soup and bread.
"We will be doing this as of Tuesday (October 8) and hope to continue it throughout the winter.
"Pop in and have a chat, we're really friendly and would love to see your faces!"
