A NEW employability course at Beith's Geilsland Estate is set to provide participants with free essential skills, training and qualifications.
Geisland Works Block 2 will combine one-to-one support and personalised coaching to boost your confidence and job prospects, equipping individuals with practical skills in a friendly, and supportive community environment.
The eight-week course, which starts on November 12 from 9.30am to 2.30pm, covers various essential employability topics, including but not limited to:
● Workplace orientation: Introduction to workplace norms and appropriate etiquette
● Employability skills: CV building, interview techniques, and job search strategies
● Personal development: Confidence building, strengths assessment, and goal setting.
● Pathways to employment: Exploring training, study, and apprenticeship opportunities.
● Real-world experience: Practical work placements and volunteering in community projects.
● Ongoing support: Personalised approach and mentorship to overcome confidence and employment barriers.
One person who took part in the first block said: “The course has been great; it’s been amazing to do so much hands-on work and actually learn real-world skills.”
To ensure that all participants are provided the flexibility to learn and engage easily; we will provide lunches, and childcare and cover travel expenses for those who require it.
