A NEW business looks set to open up in Saltcoats town centre.
It comes after Gallagher's put signage up at what was formerly the Stark's store on Hamilton Street.
The business now looks set to move in a little over four years after the iconic newsagents and tobacconists closed.
Family business George Stark and Son, known simply as Stark's, closed back in September 2019 after serving locals for more than a century.
The news was met with much sadness at the time, with their former home later occupied by a salon before this moved to another premises nearby.
The building was vacant thereafter until this weekend when new signage was visible on the shopfront - boasting the Gallagher's name.
It is understood the business will be the new home of a business operating under the same name in Rothesay.
The Gallagher's shop on the Isle of Bute offers a range of arts and crafts, jewellery and home furnishings.
No official opening date has been provided for the new Saltcoats branch as of yet, although if the front is anything to go by it may not be too long.
Those looking to find out more about the business can do so via the Gallagher's Facebook page.
