A BID has been launched to set up a meals on wheels service in the Three Towns.

And organisers are hoping to get some support from volunteers - and hopefully a premises where the meals can be prepared.

A spokesperson said: "I have spoke to a few people who have been very supportive. I think it's a much needed service in this day and age."

North Ayrshire Council run their own meals at home service, for those unable to prepare a hot cooked meal, with frozen items delivered on a fortnightly basis for a charge of £3.20 per two course meal.
