A PAIR of Rangers legends are set to come Kilwinning for a fundraising event next year.
An evening with Barry Ferguson and Kevin Thomson has been arranged to take place on February 8, 2025, in the Woodwynd Community Centre.
The event has been arranged by local man Lee Quinn who is looking to raise funds for his son's football team Kilwinning Football Academy 2015s.
The team is one which has further meaning to Lee - who will be familiar to many from his previous fundraising efforts.
Lee ran the Scott Laughlan Together Fund (SLTF) as part of the Butterfly Trust in memory of his best friend Scott, which raises money for Cystic Fibrosis research.
After raising more than £10,000 in his honour, Lee stopped events through the fund but continues to pay tribute to him in a more personal way.
Kilwinning Football Academy train at the place where Scott and Lee first met - Almswall Park - when they were eight-years-old.
"This is more personal to me helping develop kids within our club," Lee added.
Now Lee is hoping that interested locals will get behind this fundraising event for the club.
At the event, everyone in attendance will be able to meet and greet both Thomson and Ferguson.
The pair will also be taking part in a question and answer session, and live interviews. There will also be a raffle and auction on the night.
The duo both enjoyed illustrious playing careers - including starting together for Rangers in the 2008 UEFA Cup final - and the evening will undoubtedly provide plenty of entertainment.
Tickets are available at a cost of £40 and can be purchased by contacting Kilwinning Football Academy 2015s on Facebook.
