PLANS have been approved to convert part of a Kilbirnie masonic club into a hairdressers and beauty salon.
Ashlar Masonic Social Club on Newton Street will be partially subdivided to create the new business.
The application sought planning permission for a change of use for part of the property.
The salon section is set to become a Use Class 1A, while the rest of the building will continue under its existing Class 11 use, which is for assembly and leisure.
No work has started on the site yet, and a change of use has not yet taken place.
Jacqui Beggs lodged the planning application for the changes, and will now move her business Cut N Dry into the property.
No issues were foreseen with the proposed plans, and the whole building will be under single ownership.
The site, which covers an area of 85.70 square metres, will not see any changes to vehicle access, public paths, rights of way, or public right of access.
The existing eight vehicle parking spaces currently available at the site will be retained, with no additional parking spaces proposed.
The site is not located in an area of known flood risk, and the proposal is not expected to increase flood risk elsewhere.
