A WOMAN was taken to hospital following a two-vehicle crash on the A78 between Ardrossan and West Kilbride this weekend, police have confirmed.
The incident took place on the 'shore road' on Saturday, October 19, around an access road junction.
Emergency crews were alerted to the incident shortly after 2pm, with the road closed for around two hours thereafter.
A passenger within one of the vehicles was taken to hospital following the collision - with no update on their condition provided at this time.
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: "At around 2.15pm on Saturday, October 19, police received a report of a crash involving two cars on the A78 at the junction with an access road north of Ardrossan.
“Emergency services attended and one woman, a passenger in one of the cars, was taken to hospital by ambulance.
“The A78 was closed and re-opened around 4pm.”
