A MAN has been arrested in connection with the death of Kilwinning man John Taylor.

Police Scotland confirmed on Tuesday, October 22, that a 26-year-old has been apprehended.

John Taylor, 44, was pronounced dead outside his home on Pollock Crescent after police were called to the scene shortly before 2pm on Friday, October 18.

It was confirmed in the day following his death that officers were investigating murder, stating they believed the incident to be a "targeted attack".

The force say that enquiries into the incident remain ongoing at this time, having previously stated that they were "working to trace those responsible".

It has not been confirmed at this stage whether the male who has been arrested is due to appear at court in the coming days.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: "A 26-year-old man has been arrested in connection with the death of John Taylor in Kilwinning.

"Mr Taylor was found with serious injuries on Pollock Crescent around 1.55pm on Friday, October 18, 2024. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

"Enquiries are ongoing."
