ARDROSSAN Indoor Bowling Club has received a nice 50th birthday present - a £750 donation from Cunninghame Housing Association.
Janet Strang, chairperson of the association, recently presented the cheque to representatives of the club.
The indoor bowling club is celebrating its big anniversary this year, involving both past and present members.
And the funding from Cunninghame Housing Association provided financial assistance to support the momentous occasion.
Ms Strang said: "We are delighted to support the local bowling club which has been operating in the area for 50 years.
"This is an opportunity to thank all of the volunteers who have given up their time to ensure the continued success of the club and recognising their commitment over the years."
The club has a seven lane/rink indoor bowling green and a function suite. The green is the only such facility within North Ayrshire and therefore is utilised by people of all ages, genders and abilities/capabilities from Ardrossan, Saltcoats and Stevenston as well as the wider community within North Ayrshire and beyond.
The funding for the Ardrossan Indoor Bowling Club came from the Associations “Making Our Communities a Better Place Fund” which operates throughout the year (April 1 to March 31) until the allocated funding is exhausted.
