A SECOND teenager has now been charged following the death of John Taylor in Kilwinning earlier this month.
We reported on Wednesday morning that a 19-year-old male had been arrested in connection with the death - the fourth arrest of Police Scotland's murder probe so far.
The force confirmed this evening that teen has been charged and is due to appear at Kilmarnock Sheriff Court tomorrow (Thursday, October 31).
Mr Taylor, 44, was found with serious injuries on the town's Pollock Crescent at around 1.55pm on Friday, October 18. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
Two men - 26-year-old Kiey O’Connor and Kieran Lindsay, also 19 - have already appeared at court charged with murder.
Both made no plea during their separate private petition hearings and were remanded in custody.
A 53-year-old man who was previously arrested has been released pending further enquiries.
Detectives have set up a website that gives members of the public access to a form to send information directly to the Major Investigation Team, which can be submitted anonymously.
The portal can be accessed at: mipp.police.uk/operation/SCOT24S10-PO1.
Alternatively, anyone with information is asked to contact Police Scotland on 101 quoting incident number 1878 of October 18, 2024.
