A BRAVE Ardrossan teenager is all set to host her biggest fundraiser to date.

Georgie Hyslop has captured hearts across the nation with her inspirational efforts - in light of her own battle with cancer.

In December last year, Georgie was diagnosed with a rare cancer called Ewing sarcoma, which occurs in bones or in the soft tissue around them - then aged just 15.

From day one, Georgie was not only determined in her own battle, but on a mission to help others.

All through her fight, the incredible teenager has looked to help others in a position similar to her on by raising funds to donate to the Schiehallion Ward at the Royal Hospital for Children in Glasgow - where she was treated - the Teenage Cancer Trust and Marion's House.

Through various events and efforts, the teen has raised over £27,000.

In July this year, Georgie got some fantastic news - that she was now in remission and has moved to having scans every three months to ensure this is still the case moving forward.

Though that does not mean an end to her kind-hearted efforts to those facing a similar battle to her own.

Saturday, November 9, will see the Ardrossan Academy pupil host her biggest event to date - a black and white themed ball at the Seamill Hydro.

The evening - hosted by Liam Dolan - is already sold out, with over 200 people set to be in attendance, and all money raised will be donated to teens facing a cancer diagnosis.

The money will allow them to go on a trip away from hospitals and parents next year.

As well as ticket money, funds will be raised via an auction, with some incredible items up for grabs.

Georgie's mum Lynn has been blown away with the support shown ahead of the ball - with each of the 20 tables to be in place sponsored by local businesses.

She commented: "The local community have been amazing to us and we are really thankful.

"After Saturday though - we will be taking a rest from fundraising and we will be focusing on having the best Christmas ever with our family."

Following the event, the family will also be hosting an after party in Charlie's Bar in Ardrossan from 1-5pm on Sunday, November 10. All are welcome to attend.
