A BUSY commuter road which connects large parts of North Ayrshire to Glasgow will be subject to closures next week.
The A737 in Beith will be partially shut overnight from Monday, November 11 until Saturday, November 16.
The road will be closed from 8pm-6am each night, between its junctions with Wardrop Street and Geilsland Road.
A signed diversion - taking drivers to the B7049 through Beith - will be in place during the works, with all traffic management to be removed by 6am on Sunday, November 17.
The closures are to take place to allow for resurfacing work to be carried out by Amey on behalf of Transport Scotland.
Local diversions will also be in place for those impacted by the closed junctions included in the works and are described as follows:
Closure of the B777 Wardrop Street Junction with the A737
- Eastbound traffic will follow B777 - B775 Gleniffer Rd - B775 - Rannoch Road - Beith Road - Quarrelton Road - Kilbarchan Road – to return to the A737 eastbound
- Westbound traffic will continue on the B777 and follow A736 - B707 – to return to the A737 westbound
Closure of the B706 Junction with the A737
- Eastbound traffic will continue on the B706 and follow A736 - B777 - B775 Gleniffer Road - B775 - Rannoch Road - Beith Road - Quarrelton Road - Kilbarchan Road – to return to the A737 eastbound
- Westbound traffic will continue on the B706 and follow B777 - A736 - B707 – to return to the A737 westbound
Closure of the B706 Barmill Road Junction with the A737
- Eastbound traffic will continue on the A706 and follow Eglington Street – Wilson Street – Roebank Road – to return to the A737 eastbound
- Westbound traffic will continue on the A706 and follow Eglington Street to return to the A737 westbound at Manrahead Roundabout
Closure of the Head Street Junction with the A737
- Eastbound traffic will continue on Head Street and follow New Street – Eglington Street - Wilson Street – Roebank Road to return to the A737 eastbound
- Westbound traffic will continue on Head Street and follow New Street – Eglington Street to return to the A737 westbound at Manrahead Roundabout
Access for emergency service vehicles will be maintained throughout the works.
The scheme is also weather dependent and may be cancelled or rescheduled if weather conditions are not favourable.
