ARDROSSAN Castle Heritage Society still have tickets left for their fundraising Ceilidh for Cannons later this month.
Right up until World War II, there were three cannons on the hilltop, and that's why so many locals refer to Castle Hill as 'the cannon hill'.
Now the Heritage Society want to bring them back and they are running a series of fundraisers to achieve this.
The ceilidh will be held on November 30, at 7.30pm in Ardrossan Civic Centre.
It will be a fun filled family St Andrews night celebration with the amazing Borland Ceilidh Band and includes a supper of Kandy Bar pies and Greggs sausage rolls.
Children are welcome until 10pm and tickets cost £10 and can be purchased in the following shops and businesses: Seahorse Book Store, Rendezvous, Ayrshire Grooming Salon, Charlies Bar, Cheery Cup, Honey Bee Cottage and Busy Bees Nursery.
Alternatively, contact ACHS direct via their Facebook page and they can arrange to get them to you.
