A PLAN for four new detached houses on a site in Dalry is set to be considered by North Ayrshire Council.
Susan Stewart has applied for planning permission for the development, on land to the east and south of Langlands Cottage, in West Kilbride Road.
The site is part of a larger land holding which was a former vehicle garage and pit head for mining.
The application includes plans for developing garden ground, as well as roads, footpaths and associated infrastructure.
Planners noted that site maps indicated abandoned pit shafts in the area, one of which was on the western boundary of the land in question.
A report from the Coal Authority said that, according to information presently available, there are no known, past, present or proposed workings of coal within the zone. But the report does highlight the disused mine shaft.
They had no record of the land being affected by any subsidence.
