PLANS have been revealed to build a new restaurant inside a former Kilbirnie masonic club.
The proposal seeks to transform the ground floor of the historic Ashlar Masonic Social Club into a restaurant, while the upper floor will continue its original use.
Planning permission was approved back in October to turn a different part of the premises into hairdressing salon.
Currently, the proposed restaurant site features a large function room and a private lounge at the back of the ground floor.
The upper floor, where the masonic temple is located, will remain unchanged.
Initially, the new restaurant will employ a minimum number of staff due to the uncertain demand.
This team will include a full-time chef, two full-time kitchen staff, and three bar staff working in shifts.
In the future, the owners plan to adjust staffing levels based on demand, which could create further employment opportunities down the line.
The restaurant plans to offer a breakfast service to local workers, in addition to lunch and dinner services after the local bakery's closure left a gap in the community.
The proposed opening hours are 7.30am to 10.30pm from Sunday to Thursday, 7.30am to 12am on Fridays, and 7.30am to 1am on Saturdays.
