NETWORK Rail's maintenance team will be carrying out overnight work along the line around Ardrossan South Beach Station next month.
The tree and plant management work will be carried out between 11.30pm on Sunday, December 1 and 6am on Thursday, December 5.
A Network Rail spokesperson said: "We'll work during the day when we can, however for this job, we're working closer to the railway line, which means we must work at night.
"This keeps our staff safe and minimises disruption to passenger and freight services.
"Some of the equipment we use for this type of work, like chainsaw or chippers, will generate some noise. We're sorry for any disturbance this may cause."
They added: "Managing the trees and plants alongside our railway is a key part of what we do.
"We want passengers and all those who live and work near the railway line to be safe, whilst still protecting our lineside habitats and biodiversity, so we plan work like this with great care."
