TWO men have been arrested and charged in connection with driving while disqualified in North Ayrshire.
The Three Towns Locality Policing Team stopped two men, aged 22 and 30, in the Stevenston and Saltcoats areas last week.
The 30-year-old appeared in court on Friday, November 15 and the 22-year-old is due to appear on Thursday, December 5.
Reports have been submitted to the Procurator Fiscal.
Sergeant Will Hutchinson, Three Towns Locality Policing Team, said: “Disqualified drivers who continue to drive show disregard for the ban imposed by the court and for the safety of others.
"If convicted, they may face a longer disqualification and in serious cases, could be remanded in prison.
"You could be disqualified if you have been convicted of a serious motoring offence or if you build up 12 or more penalty points within a three year period.
"You must not drive until your ban is complete and, in most cases, until you have resat a driving test.
"Road safety is one of North Ayrshire’s local policing priorities and our officers continue to act on information from our partners and the community."
If you have information about a disqualified driver, or any other crime, you can report this to Police Scotland on 101 or, in an emergency, 999.
Alternatively, you can phone Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
