RESIDENTS of a Kilwinning caravan park claim they were left with no water supply for almost 48 hours after a burst main.

The holidaymakers and caravan owners at Viewfield Manor lost their water supply on Tuesday and it took almost two days to fix the issue.

Some claimed they hadn't even been provided with bottled water to wash their hands or flush toilets at the site.

That was denied by owners Verdant Leisure, who said bottles of water were readily available. But a spokesman apologised if any residents had been missed out.

The Verdant spokesman said: "There was an issue with the water and we thought it had been fixed on Wednesday evening. But the leak came back.

"The problem was finally fixed around midday today (Thursday, November 21).

"We gave bottled water out, but if there's been someone missed we can only apologise."

One caravan owner said today: “We were left with no water and they didn't even give us bottles of water for drinking, cooking or washing.

“It’s a joke. Some people live there and can’t flush their toilet, wash their hands or clean dishes because the water supply is totally cut off.

“They will say they are doing what they can - but they weren’t providing updates or answering the phones. They told us it would be working again by 2pm on Wednesday, after 24 hours of it being cut off.

“The swimming pool is closed, which means swim classes are cancelled and people are losing money from it. Other businesses are losing out and there’s no communication.

“This isn’t the first issue caravan owners have had throughout the year and owners are still expecting to pay the site fees for 2025 with ongoing issues still not being resolved."
