STORM Bert tried its best but nothing could put a dampener on this year's Saltcoats Christmas Carnival.
The popular festive event made a triumphant return on Sunday, November 24, as it took place for the first time since 2022.
Thanks to remarkable support from many local people, and numerous businesses, the town centre was transformed into a winter wonderland for the occasion.
The community turned out in force to support the carnival - and see Saltcoats' Christmas lights officially switched on for this year.
Those who braved the cold and wet conditions were treated to a spectacular night of fun and entertainment.
There were musical performances, a number of shows and various venues opened their doors to support the event.
The evening was topped off by a special appearance from abseiling Santa who made his way down the clock tower at the Town Hall to switch on the Christmas lights.
Following the conclusion of the carnival, organisers thanked all for their outstanding support and making the event possible.
They are now looking forward to doing it all again next year!
