MORE than five million train journeys were taken across Ayrshire in the last recorded year.
The Office of Rail and Road has gathered together estimates of the number of journeys made at stations across Ayrshire.
From April 2023 to March 2024, 5,605,608 entries and exits were recorded at stations in the region.
Kilwinning was the region's most used station, with 709,802 entries and exits in that period.
Ardrossan Town was the region's least used station, with 17,304 entries and exits recorded.
