Ardrossan Accies RFC 1st XV picked up their first win of the season at the weekend as they beat Strathmore Rugby.
Going into the home match Ardrossan knew a win would lift them off the bottom of the Scottish National League 3 table.
From the off, the hosts showed their desire to do just that as they dominated by using their forwards to attack, creating gaps in the Strathmore defence for the backs to exploit.
At no point did Strathmore really get into the match only scoring from penalty kicks and a try from an interception by their full back, who had almost the full pitch to run to score.
Ardrossan dominated from an attacking aspect as well, controlling the scrum and lineout, leaving Strathmore with no answer to the continual attacking from the Accies pack.
Their dogged play gave the hosts a convincing 51-17 win over Strathmore, with the tries being scored by Stuart Lamont, Scott Campbell, Harry MacDonald, Bruce Hunter, Finlay Cairns and Ruairidh Anderson grabbing two.
