North Ayrshire Ice Hockey Club’s youth side, the Predators, were recently in league action against Murrayfield Juniors.
The U16’s game at Auchenharvie Ice Rink got off to a quick start when Murrayfield gave away a penalty,
Predator’s Emma Lamberton won the face off , then moved the puck before passing to Flynn Massie who dispatched a shot from just inside the blue line and found the back of the net to open the scoring.
It was then the Predators turn to come under a bit of early pressure in the league match as they gave away two penalties themselves.
However, the hosts battled hard to defend against them and ensure they went in at the end of first period ahead.
In the second period, the Predators sought to gain a foothold on the match and double their lead.
They did just that when Massie broke away on the counter before feeding in Jacob Woods who slipped the puck under the net minders pads.
Murrayfield then had a penalty against them but North Ayr couldn’t capitalise having the extra skater and the second period finished 2-0 to the hosts.
In the third period, the Predators wrapped up their convincing win with a third.
Massie getting in between two Murrayfield players before shooting high into the top left hand corner of the goal to seal a 3-0 win.
His star performance on the rink with two goals and an assist earned Massie the man of the match award.
