A NEW amateur football team is planning to form in the Three Towns.

A social media page has now been set up for an Ardrossan Winton Rovers AFC side who intend to play in the Ayrshire Amateur Football Association leagues from next season.

A number of details have also been stated on the club's page, with the team set to begin pre-season in June.

It is planned that the side will train at Winton Park in Ardrossan - which will be an astroturf surface at the beginning of next season, should a pending planning application be approved by North Ayrshire Council.

A home park is yet to be confirmed.

The club are set to play in the traditional Winton Rovers colours of white, black and red, and any players who join the club will have access to the Ardrossan Community Hub gym.

Sponsorship opportunities will also be available as the club gets up and running.
