YOUNG ice hockey stars from North Ayrshire had title success to celebrate this weekend.
The North Ayrshire Wild under 19 side were crowned Scottish league winners on Saturday, May 4.
The trophy was secured after a victory over the Belfast Junior Giants who faced off against the young Wild side at the Auchenharvie Ice Arena in Stevenston.
The Wild pulled off an impressive 3-1 victory to extend their 100 per cent winning record to 14 games, opening up an insurmountable lead atop the standings.
They then made it 15 wins on the spin only a day later when the Wild defeated Murrayfield Juniors on Sunday, May 5.
With only one game left to play, the North Ayrshire side will be hoping to complete this perfect season and round of their championship winning season in style.
They have the chance to do so when they face fellow Ayrshire side Kilmarnock on Thursday, May 9.
A club spokesperson said: "This squad of talented individuals are such a tight unit on ice where they can run riot on defences, but also grind out the toughest of games and pop up with a goal with two seconds left on the clock.
"However, it's their togetherness off-ice which shows the true character of these players, devoted to the well being of each other is a massive part of their team ethos and that's what makes them the very best bunch of guys around."
