THE final piece of the new season's fixture list jigsaw has been slotted into place for clubs across Ayrshire after the draw was made for the opening rounds of the Scottish Junior Cup.

Auchinleck Talbot, the most successful team in the tournament's history, will kick off their attempt to win the famous old trophy for a 15th time when they welcome Lossiemouth United to Beechwood Park on September 21.

Cumnock Juniors, winners in 2023, also start their campaign against North of Scotland opposition with an away trip to Hermes, while holders Darvel will travel to Coupar Angus to begin their defence of the trophy.

Beith Juniors will travel to Fife to face Inverkeithing Hillfield Swifts, while Largs Thistle will welcome Sauchie Juniors to Barrfields Park and Troon will also head for the north-east to take on Dufftown.

The draw was made by the Scottish Junior FA on Monday night.

All the Ayrshire sides involved in the competition received a bye into the second round, which will be played on the weekend of September 21.

The round two fixtures featuring Ayrshire clubs are as follows.

Three Ayrshire West of Scotland Football League clubs - Kilwinning Rangers, Whitletts Victoria and Girvan - have not entered the Junior Cup.

The draw, made on July 10, completes the new season's competitive fixture lists for Ayrshire's WoSFL sides, who are due to play their opening league matches on July 27.
