Ardeer Thistle boss Sean Kenney hailed a "hard but rewarding" day as his side ran out winners in a tight game at Vale of Leven.
Two quickfire goals from David Henry and Stewart Morgan in the first half put Ardeer in control, before a late Leven penalty made it a nervy ending to the game.
However, Thistle held on for their third win in the opening four games of the season to continue their strong start to the campaign.
Kenney says he was delighted by his side's performance in a notoriously difficult venue to pick up points.
He told Ardeer's social media: "Delighted to come here and get the three points, we knew how difficult it was going to be.
"We started really well, and in the second half we were solid enough. They put a lot of pressure on us but we dealt with that.
"A hard, hard day for us but a rewarding day with the boys coming up and getting the three points."
Ardeer move on to a home clash with Thorn Athletic on Wednesday, chasing their third win on the bounce.
Kenney added: "This will be a tough game but we're looking to get that wee bit of consistency.
"We want to keep pushing and getting better, we've still got a lot of room for improvement. We're looking forward to Wednesday."
