IT WAS a case of double delight for a Stevenston golf club at the Ayrshire Golf Association's 'finals day'.

Moorpark Golf Club, who play out of the town's Auchenharvie course, lined up in two final contests at Ballochmyle Golf Club on Sunday, September 1.

After battling their way through the season, a six-strong team of player represented the club in the last match of the Ayrshire Handicap League.

Each player in the team contests a singles match, with one point awarded for a win or half a point if a game is halved.

Facing off against fellow Stevenston club Ardeer, it was Moorpark who prevailed to claim the title for third time in the last four years.

Later that same day, the club added to their trophy cabinet in the President's Putter competition.

The contest sees clubs compete in a straight knockout format throughout the season, leaving only two teams to compete for the trophy.

It was another meeting with Ardeer in that final - with a different team of four player representing each club across two singles matches and a foursomes doubles tie.

The Auchenharvie-based club claimed victory once again - making it two President's Putter titles in just three years.
