ARDROSSAN Accies kept up their incredible run of league form as they picked up another win on Saturday, October 19.
After winning each of their fixtures in West Division One last season, Andrew Duncan's side earned promotion into the National Leagues.
Their fine form has continued since then, winning their opening seven fixtures of this campaign.
This weekend coming looks set to provide their hardest challenge to date - as they face the only other side in National Division Four with a perfect record.
Strathmore will visit the Memorial Field on Saturday, October 26, with the club's head coach confident his side have got what it takes to keep their run going.
He has been buoyed by his sides last two performances, digging deep to pick up narrow wins away to Hamilton Bulls 20-14, and Dunfermline 31-27.
Duncan commented: “Winning away from home is an important part, the more wins you can pick up away from home the better you will be in the standings. It shows you can deal with the travel disruption or hostile crowds.
“It was really pleasing, it’s been two really good opponents who have been scoring a lot of points.
“We were down to 14 players twice in the game (against Dunfermline) and we weathered the pressure really well and when they came back on we got back on the front foot.
“That was probably the best thing about our game at the weekend, despite conceding nearly 30 points it was a great defensive effort.”
Despite the close for comfort scorelines, Duncan has welcomed the tests these matches have offered - which he believes will set his side in good stead.
He added: “No disrespect but we won our first two games comfortably which I think has formed a couple of bad habits.
“That was highlighted up at Hamilton and we had to find a way to get over the line.
“At the weekend there some of the tries we scored were excellent, we had a lot of variety in attack but we still left a few out there.
“Going into Hamilton we knew the next four weeks would be a massive point, we’re in the run up to the halfway point and we’re playing all the teams at the top end of the table.
“If we can get through this period and continue our form it sets us up for the second half of the season quite well.”
The head coach views weekend's fixture against Strathmore as a chance to show the rest of the league what they are all about, by snatching their opponents unbeaten record.
“Strathmore will be full confidence," he said, "the fact we are at home gives us a sort of advantage – hopefully we get a little bit of a lift and we have a good crowd down for what promises to be quite a competitive game.
“We need to play our own game and set out our own platform, we want teams to match us, we need to go in with the mentality that no matter where teams are in the league we need to be ruthless.
“We’ve had a lot of compliments on how we play but I’ve been trying to get us to have this sort of nastiness where teams don’t want to play us.”
Duncan is now hoping everything his side has worked on comes to a head for the fixture.
He continued: “We want to win every game and put a marker down for everyone, we want teams that when they play us, they know we are up for a battle.
“We can perform and score from anywhere and we want teams to have to play their best game to get anything from us.
“It’s a balance, I want boys to be confident but it’s difficult to maintain that and not be arrogant.
“The last two games have made us win in different ways, it’s the sort of experiences that hopefully help us see the likes of this game against Strathmore over the line.”
