ARDEER Thistle boss Sean Kenney says his side need to learn to deal with setbacks better after their second consecutive league defeat.
And for the second week in a row, the Stevenston side let a two goal lead slip on their way to a 3-2 loss at home to Kilsyth Athletic on Saturday, November 30.
Yet again Thistle got off to a flying start in the match with Thomas Miller giving Kenney's side the lead after just 13 minutes.
Their lead doubled on 37 minutes when Marc Wardope's cross was headed in by a visiting defender.
However, the two goal cushion lasted only a matter of minutes with Kilsyth finding their way back into the match shortly after the 40 minute mark.
The visitors enjoyed the majority of the ball in the second half although it took until 75 minutes before they could find a leveller.
It looked like the points would be shared thereafter before Kilsyth dug deep to find a winner one minute into time added on.
Speaking to the club's own social media team, Kenney was left frustrated at how his side responded to conceding their first goal shortly before half-time.
He commented: “I think we played alright in the first half, there wasn’t much in the game.
“They scored just before half-time to get them back into it and we need to deal with situations like that better.
“The last couple of games we haven’t dealt with that well enough. Kilsyth were the better team second half.
“We’ve not taken enough chances and the goals we lose were really poor, it’s really disappointing.”
Though the Thistle boss says he won't be overreacting to the consecutive defeats from two in front.
With no fixture this coming weekend, he wants his side to work hard to "put it right" when they return to action at home to Glasgow Perthshire on December 14.
Kenney added: “The last two games haven’t been good enough, we’re giving away decent leads, we need to do better.
“We just need to click again, it’s not going to be a knee jerk reaction, we all just need to be better.
“We’ll not get too low, it’s a sore one to take just now but we’ll look to put it right.”
